We read, analysed and assessed thousands of publications from the last decade, while also performing meticulous statistical analyses on works which not only have inspired, but also constituted a solid scientific basis for the rigorous and methodological development of our own research, based on science followed by the clinical validation of data.

  • In particular, it is estimated that between 30 to 40% of all women in childbearing age are affected by infertility and unexplained subfertility. Indeed this emerged in data from our own diagnostic practice, conducted on over 2200 cases in which the incidence of unexplained causes exceeded 45%.
  • What also emerged from scientific literature is that in cases of subfertility and unexplained fertility, Medically Assisted Procreation does not offer greater chances for conception compared to those achievable through attempting to become pregnant naturally, with scientific and medical support (including nutrition and life style).
  • Lastly, it was demonstrated how age, life style and above all the correct determination and knowledge of one's own ovulation cycle and "fertile" windows, are all fundamental in contributing towards achieving a natural pregnancy.

Successively, we dedicated ourselves to researching new biomarkers and validating a new panel of tests which could be applied as a diagnostic method, to find scientifically demonstrable correlations between imbalances in some components of the immune system, and the state of subfertility or unexplained infertility. This is what constituted part of our scientific foundation.

After approximately 1 year of study and research, we identified 4 highly promising biomarkers, linked to different areas of the immune system, each producing conception-hindering effects if present in quantities exceeding normal physiological values. We tested them for over 3 years and demonstrated the following in particular:

  • Toxic activity towards the embryo: in some cases, the system of the complement which is part of the immune system develops an adverse reaction to the presence of paternal DNA, the moment in which the embryo is formed. This reaction produces "embryotoxic factors" in the blood which attack the embryo in early or successive phases of implantation.
  • Systemic inflammation: the production of pro-inflammatory components, such as cytokines, may exceed physiological levels as part of the immune system's response to the embryo's presence. There may already be high levels of Cytokines at a systemic level due to other, pre-existing pathological conditions.
  • Immuno-suppression: this is the effect produced by part of a protein secreted by the uterus, to favour embryo implantation in the endometrium. In a few cases, excessive levels of this protein result in the opposite effect.
  • Cellular oxidation damage: oxidative stress is caused by an imbalance between the production of free radicals and anti-oxidative capacity. Germ cells, spermatozoa and oocytes are particularly sensitive to the presence of free radicals. Excessive quantities of the latter, just like oxidative damage, may be harmful to oocytes, spermatozoa or embryos.

To date we have conducted three clinical studies (which will soon be published). The first was to validate the diagnostic method in a cohort of over 400 women. The second was to validate our supplement, involving a population of approximately 50 women, and the third was to validate our diagnostic method within a population of over 2200 women tested for all four biomarkers, where important correlations were discovered between the presence of biomarkers, age, duration of the state of subfertility or infertility, etc.

A new clinical study will begin towards the end of 2017 at Rome's Ospedale Gemelli, led by Prof. Giovanni Scambia, with the aim of validating our test for diagnosing and understanding the causes of recurring spontaneous abortions, and to validate our supplement which aims to counter any negative effects.

Over 40% of analysed blood samples from women affected by subfertility or unexplained infertility test positive for at least one of the biomarkers, presenting with a higher value than the physiological one.

Consequently we have found the conception rate among the population of women who test positive to be less than 4%.

Therefore we developed and clinically tested a new botanic, 100% natural supplement, which proved to regularise the menstrual cycle, and above all, restore the organism's natural defences and reduce oxidation, returning single biomarker values to normal physiological reference values.
